According to previous reports, in 2016, Jiang Ge, who was studying in Japan, was killed by Chen Shifeng, the ex-boyfriend of his friend Liu Nuanxi, at the door of his residence in Tokyo. He was only 24 years old.

At 3 pm on December 20, 2017, the Tokyo District Court in Japan sentenced the defendant Chen Shifeng to 20 years in prison for intentional homicide and intimidation.

Jiang Qiulian believed that Liu Nuanxi was at fault for Jiang Ge's death, and said that she would initiate legal proceedings against Liu Nuanxi in accordance with the law.

In October 2019, Jiang Qiulian filed a lawsuit against Liu Nuanxi on the grounds of infringement of the right to life, and claimed more than two million yuan.

On January 10, 2022, the People's Court of Chengyang District, Qingdao City, Shandong Province made a first-instance judgment on the dispute over the right of life between the plaintiff Jiang Qiulian and the defendant Liu Nuanxi: the defendant Liu Nuanxi should compensate the plaintiff Jiang Qiulian for various economic activities within ten days from the date when the judgment takes effect. Loss of 496,000 yuan and mental damage consolation of 200,000 yuan, and bear all the case acceptance fees.

The court held that Jiang Ge, as a female student studying in a foreign country, should be praised for helping her compatriots who were in trouble; she should be given legal remedies for her illegal infringement.

Liu Nuanxi's behavior violated common sense and human feelings and should be condemned, and should bear civil compensation liability and bear all the case acceptance fees.

On January 19, Jiang Qiulian said on her Weibo that she accepted the first-instance judgment of the case and decided not to appeal.

On January 24, which was also the last day of the appeal period for the case, Liu Nuanxi submitted an appeal to the Chengyang District People's Court in Qingdao, hoping that the court could remand the case for retrial or dismiss all the appeals of the appellee.

On the morning of February 16, Liu Nuanxi and her attorney Hu Guiyun appeared in court, and Jiang Qiulian stated on her personal Weibo that due to physical reasons, she would not appear in court today to participate in the trial, and the two attorneys would represent her with full authority.

According to the "Qingdao Intermediate People's Court", during the trial, the collegial panel organized a court investigation and court debate. The two parties discussed whether the first instance violated legal procedures, whether Liu Nuanxi should bear the tort liability, and whether the amount of compensation determined by the first instance judgment was appropriate. Adequate evidence, cross-examination and debate.

According to detailed media reports, during the trial, the appellant Liu Nuanxi said that Jiang Ge had taken the initiative to wait for Liu Nuanxi without Liu Nuanxi asking him to wait at the subway entrance.

There is no evidence that Liu Nuanxi "locked the door" after entering the room first.

It is impossible for Liu Nuanxi to recognize and predict that Chen Shifeng will kill, let alone recognize and predict that Chen Shifeng will kill someone who has nothing to do with him.

Jiang Ge was killed entirely because of Chen Shibee's actions.

Liu Nuanxi believes that she is not at fault and should not be liable for civil compensation.

The appellee Jiang Qiulian said that Liu Nuanxi's emphasis on the fact that Jiang Ge was already waiting for Liu Nuanxi on the premise that Liu Nuanxi did not ask her to wait at the subway entrance has no evidence to support it.

The fact that Liu Nuanxi "locked the door" has sufficient objective evidence to prove it, and Liu Nuanxi's denial just reproduces the situation in which Liu Nuanxi made false statements due to shirk his responsibility.

Liu Nuanxi had sufficient evidence to stop Jiang Ge from calling the police.
