Thanks to a faultless on the shooting range, Marte Olsbu Roeiseland outclassed the competition, relegated to more than thirty seconds.

The silver medal went to Sweden's Elvira Oeberg (+31 seconds), while Italy's Dorothea Wierer took bronze 38 seconds behind Roeiseland.

At 31, Marte Olsbu Roeiseland won her second Olympic title in Beijing, since she was part of the golden adventure of the Norwegian mixed relay at the start of the fortnight.

Third in the individual, she climbed on the three podiums and will leave with a nice mattress ahead of her rivals in pursuit, scheduled for Sunday (5:00 p.m. local, 10:00 a.m. French).

Olympic vice-champion in the sprint four years ago, Roeiseland dominates the World Cup this winter with already six victories for a total of nine podiums.

She thus won her first individual title at the Olympic Games.

At the Worlds-2020, in Anterselva (Italy), she was on the seven possible podiums, with five titles (sprint, mass start, relay, mixed relay and single mixed relay, the latter not being Olympic).

First Frenchwoman, Anaïs Bescond had to settle for 9th place with a fault on the lying shot, finishing more than a minute from the title and about thirty seconds from the podium, which leaves her with a small hope for the pursuit.

Julia Simon and Justine Braisaz-Bouchet completed the 7.5 km with three faults on the unusually lightly windy Zhangjiakou shooting range and find themselves respectively two minutes and two and a half minutes behind Roeiseland, a big handicap for the pursuit .

Individual Olympic vice-champion on Monday, Anaïs Chevalier-Bouchet experienced a real ordeal on Friday.

With a 6/10 on the launch pad, she took 68th place and will not even be able to start a pursuit, reserved for the first sixty in the sprint.
