, the pilot of the fighter plane was able to eject before the device caught fire and fell into the water.
The soldier was then picked up by helicopter.
In total, the accident injured seven sailors.
Operations to recover the plane
The US military has not confirmed the authenticity of the video, but has not denied it.
On January 25, the US Navy announced the launch of operations to recover the aircraft.
A race against time then began for the American army, which wishes to get their hands on the debris before Beijing, very close to the site of the disaster.
