REPORTING

Today is Wednesday, Wednesday, Children's Day, even in China.

I take you, therefore, for this fourth episode of our series A China winter, to the east of Beijing, where there is a whole series of giant shopping malls, real cities within the city and which offer a whole host of activities for families and especially for children.

For the occasion, I have chosen this Chinese version of a Christmas carol for you, because it is always the holidays here, the Chinese New Year holidays (see video in illustration of this article).

Puppets, massage and video games: we went to the mall, in Beijing

We are outside a large shopping center in Beijing, an ultra-modern shopping center and there are plenty of events organized around the Olympic Games with the sponsors of these Games, of course, who have set up stands a little all over.

You can see both the events of these Winter Olympics and then gift ideas around the theme of the Olympics (see video illustration).

We will pass inside this large shopping center where activities are offered for children, such as this shadow theater, a very traditional show in China and which, even today, still fascinates children.

We are passionate about these little characters from Chinese mythology.

During Chinese New Year

We are in the middle of the Chinese New Year holiday.

Here, the Chinese New Year was February 1st.

It is traditionally the major holidays here in China.

It lasts a month, the primary schools are closed and everyone takes the opportunity to go for a walk and do activities with the children, as a family.

This time, we enter a gigantic and extremely noisy room, you hear it, devoted to video games.

There is a real passion for video games in China.

There are also massage chairs for resting or sleeping, small cabins for doing karaoke.

And there is an alley with only restaurants, with the famous Chinese fondue on the menu, very popular in winter, of course.

Here, you will have understood it, the shopping centers in Beijing are absolutely gigantic and crowded during the Chinese New Year holidays.
