It had been opened urgently on January 10 to deal with the outbreak of Omicron cases.
After two weeks of massive screening, the ephemeral center set up in the Triangle in Rennes closed its doors as planned.
Over the period, the caregivers installed in the cultural equipment carried out nearly 5,200 screening tests, of which nearly 1,400 turned out to be negative.
If this center closes, another will open from Wednesday in the Breton capital.
It will be located on the Malifeu site in the Villejean district, which has already housed a vaccination center since the beginning of December.
An incidence rate close to 4,000 cases in metropolitan France
Managed by the city, it will be open Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. without appointment for a period of two weeks.
"But it will be able to remain operational longer if the health situation and the demand for screening so require", specifies a press release from the city.
The center will be able to carry out several hundred tests per day.
According to the latest data from the regional health agency of Brittany, the circulation of the virus is still very high in Ille-et-Vilaine with an incidence rate of 3,459 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, a figure up 830 points on a week.
The situation is even worse in the territory of Rennes Métropole with an incidence rate close to 4,000 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
