It was introduced at the meeting that the national production safety situation continued to be stable and improved, with the total number of accidents continuing to decline, and the major accidents declining year-on-year; major accidents were basically the same; no particularly major accidents occurred.

A total of 34,600 production safety accidents and 26,300 deaths occurred throughout the year, a decrease of 9% and 4% respectively compared with 2020.

There were 16 major accidents in which more than 10 people died, which were distributed in 13 provinces (regions) including Shandong, Jiangsu, Anhui, Hebei, Shanxi, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Henan, Hubei, Guangdong, Gansu, Qinghai, and Xinjiang, as well as road transportation, coal mines, etc. , metal and non-metal mining, construction, water transportation, fire and gas and other industries.

From the perspective of major accidents, the number of accidents and fatalities in some places and industries has seen a "double increase": Liaoning, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong, Yunnan and other 5 provinces have more than 20 major accidents and "double increase" year-on-year ; Larger accidents in industries such as industry and trade, water transportation, fishing vessels, fireworks and firecrackers "doubled up" year-on-year.
