China Overseas Chinese Network, January 17. According to a report compiled by the South American Overseas Chinese News Network, Paraguay's Deputy Minister of Health Hernán Martinez recently announced a new health protocol. Vaccinated close contacts take different isolation measures.

The former will be quarantined for 7 days, while the latter will be quarantined for 10 days.

Paraguay's "Latest Moments" recently reported that Martinez said that the Ministry of Health issued the new protocol based on scientific evidence, after comparing the symptoms of people who have been vaccinated against the new crown pneumonia with those who have not been vaccinated.

The new protocol, which took effect on January 12, stipulates that people with symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, nasal congestion and fatigue are considered the first day they should be quarantined.

Likewise, if the quarantined person has direct contact with a positive case, the first day should be counted from the date of the last contact.

According to the regulations of the Ministry of Health, if the close contact has no relevant symptoms and has not been vaccinated or not fully vaccinated (only one dose has been vaccinated), medical personnel should test the close contact for the new coronavirus on the fifth day and isolate them .

If the result is positive, the close contact will be quarantined for 10 days; if it is negative, the close contact can resume normal activities.

If a close contact with relevant symptoms has not been vaccinated or is not fully vaccinated, the close contact will be isolated and tested for the new coronavirus on the second day of the onset of symptoms.

If the result is positive, the close contact should be quarantined for 10 days; if negative, the close contact should undergo relevant medical consultation to determine further diagnosis and treatment.

If a close contact with symptoms has been fully vaccinated, medical staff also need to isolate the close contact and conduct a new coronavirus test the day after they develop symptoms.

If the result is positive, the close contact is subject to a 7-day quarantine.

Isolation and testing are not recommended if close contacts are asymptomatic and fully vaccinated.

However, it is also up to the close associates themselves to maximize care to minimize risk.

The Ministry of Health advises that after close contacts are released from isolation, they must strictly follow the rules for the proper use of masks whenever they are with other people.

In asymptomatic cases, self-monitoring of the physical condition is also recommended.

If a close contact suspects that they are infected with the new coronavirus, they should refrain from continuing to socialize and work, and conduct self-isolation and medical consultation.

According to reports, the Ministry of Health defines anyone who has been in contact with a positive confirmed case at a distance of less than 2 meters and a contact time of more than 15 minutes as a close contact.
