The Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department of the Ministry of the Interior said that compared with the same period last year, the number of "dangerous seven-day" traffic accidents and the number of deaths and injuries caused by this year's New Year have dropped.

During the period, Chiang Mai Province in northern Thailand had the most road traffic accidents, and the capital city of Bangkok caused the most traffic accidents.

The vehicles involved in the accident were mainly motorcycles, accounting for 82.94% of the total.

Thailand is one of the top countries in the global car accident mortality rate, especially the high incidence of road traffic accidents around the New Year’s and New Year’s Eve and Songkran (Songkran) holidays each year, so these two holidays are also called "Dangerous Seven Days" ".
