Head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Ismail Haniyeh, revealed that his movement presented its vision to Egypt regarding unity and rearranging the Palestinian house.

In a speech broadcast by Hamas-affiliated Al-Aqsa TV on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the movement’s founding, Haniyeh indicated that his movement sent to Egypt its vision on building national unity, starting with building a unified Palestinian leadership through the Palestine Liberation Organization, passing through the arrangement of governance institutions inside the West Bank and Gaza, with an agreement on a political program for these. stage, and a struggle strategy to confront the occupation.

Since mid-2007, a split has prevailed between Hamas and the Palestinian Liberation Movement (Fatah), and mediation and agreements have not succeeded in ending it.

Regarding pressure on Hamas to push it to make political concessions, the head of the Hamas political bureau said that what was not taken from Gaza by the sword of siege and wars could not be taken with the sword of reconstruction or the sword of exchange (for prisoners).

He added that all attempts aimed at pushing Hamas "either by siege, war, aggression or conspiracies, to abandon any of the people's constants, failed and did not succeed."

The population of the Gaza Strip, whose number exceeds two million, suffers from difficult economic and living conditions as a result of the continued siege of the Israeli occupation for the 15th year in a row, exacerbated by the delay in the reconstruction of what was destroyed by the recent Israeli aggression last May.

Speaking about the Palestinian detainees inside the prisons of the occupation, Haniyeh said that the issue of prisoners is a top priority for his movement and the Palestinian resistance factions, and he expressed his movement's support for the battles waged by the prisoners against the Israeli prison administration.

In this context, Haniyeh made it clear that "the battle to liberate the prisoners is an open battle in all places, times and arenas, and we will not be patient for long while our prisoners remain in the occupation prisons."

He added, "The Qassam prisoners of the occupation will not enjoy seeing the sun unless our prisoners enjoy it and embrace the sun of freedom."

Hamas keeps 4 Israelis, including two soldiers who were captured during the war on Gaza in the summer of 2014 (without disclosing their fate or health status), and the other two who entered the Strip under unclear circumstances during the past years.

On the issue of Lebanon’s camps, Haniyeh affirmed Hamas’ rejection of attempts to detonate or detonate the arena of Palestinian camps in Lebanon, and pointed out that Hamas “views with great gravity the unfortunate events that took place in the North Tower camp in Lebanon, by firing from a faction that would break the back and create an obstacle.” before Palestinian unity.
