Indian army chief killed in helicopter crash

Chief of Staff Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 others were killed when a military helicopter on board crashed in southern India on Wednesday, the Indian Air Force announced.

The Air Force said in a tweet on Twitter that the accident occurred around noon near the town of Coonoor, and that among the dead were four crew members of the Mi-17V5 plane.
