In order to break the fourth wave of pandemics, the state capital and the neighboring Rheingau-Taunus district are significantly expanding their in-patient vaccination programs.

In order to achieve the number of 4685 vaccinations per week specified for the district, the vaccination stations in Eltville and Taunusstein-Wehen are now open daily - including Sundays - in Eltville from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., in Taunusstein from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This seven-day offer is valid until December 23rd and then again from January 3rd.

The vaccination stations are closed from December 24th to 26th and from December 31st to January 2nd, but are open in between.

Registration is not required.

Wiesbaden will open another inpatient vaccination offer on Monday in the former citizens' office in Luisenforum, Dotzheimer Straße 8. Up to 500 citizens can be vaccinated there daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. without prior notification.

On December 8th, a vaccination station in the district center of Schelmengraben, Hans-Böckler-Straße 5–7, is to go into operation, which is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Before Christmas, further vaccination offers are to be opened in Erbenheim and Biebrich.

The vaccination operation in the DKD Helios Klinik, Aukammallee 33, is still running.

Vaccine cannot be chosen freely

From now on, Wiesbaden wants to be able to have around 7000 vaccinations per week and thus to meet the requirements of the state. "We hope that we will now receive enough vaccine quickly," says Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende (SPD). 4080 cans of Biontech and 4000 cans of Moderna were ordered for the coming week. According to the country, only 1848 cans of Biontech and 4000 cans of Moderna are actually delivered.

More than 12,000 appointment requests have now been received for the vaccination offer at the DKD Helios Klinik. Mathematically, the clinic is fully booked until March. The city asks not to make any more appointment requests for the time being. In Wiesbaden, vaccinations are based on the recommendations of the Standing Vaccination Commission. The vaccine cannot be chosen freely. All those under 30 who are willing to vaccinate will receive Biontech, all others primarily Moderna, as fewer Biontech cans are delivered than ordered.

In addition to the stationary offers, the city's mobile vaccination team is still on the move.

The request to the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians for support has meanwhile been refused: The requested Medibus is used as a rolling medical practice in other circles, it said.

According to the administration, the resident doctors in Wiesbaden carried out 8868 vaccinations in the past week - significantly more than in the two previous weeks with 4517 and 6243 vaccinations.
