"Children from 5 to 11 years old will also be asked to be vaccinated against the coronavirus," Probst said on the radio.

It is noted that

in a study after vaccination in 3 thousand children, there were no serious side effects.

“We do not expect that children aged 5 to 11 will differ from the rest of the population in terms of the profile of side effects,” said Director of the Danish Medicines Agency Lars Bo Nielsen.

This means that in "extremely rare cases" in the study, children experienced pain at the injection site, fever, and general discomfort after vaccination.

“We need more immunity among children,” concluded Probst.

This recommendation came after the European regulator approved the use of the Comirnaty vaccine from Pfizer and BioNTech for children aged five to 11 years.

Previously, Canada approved the Pfizer vaccine for children aged 5-11.

In Israel, on November 23, a campaign to vaccinate children aged five to 11 against coronavirus begins.
