Brazil issues a new postage stamp on the occasion of its participation in "Expo 2020 Dubai"

Saleh Ahmed Salem Al Suwaidi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Brazil, attended the event that the General Postal Administration in Brazil issued a postage stamp in honor of Expo 2020 Dubai and the Brazilian Pavilion in it, in coordination with the Ministry of Communication and the Brazilian Export Promotion Agency (Apex), which organized this historic event.


The Director of the Postal Department handed the Emirati ambassador a sealed copy of the postal stamp, whose issuance constitutes a good tribute to the importance of Expo 2020 Dubai. It also reflects the Brazilian interest in the international exhibition, to which the Brazilian authorities have devoted great efforts by establishing a large pavilion that rises to the level of the event and is commensurate with Brazil’s aspirations in the areas of growth. And sustainability, as well as the desire to strengthen relations of cooperation and strategic partnership between the two countries.


Al Suwaidi expressed his deep thanks to the Brazilian authorities for issuing the historic postal stamp for Brazil's participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, pointing to the importance of the exhibition as a prominent global event that was able to bring together 192 countries to display their achievements in all fields and introduce their social, cultural and other components.


Al Suwaidi also praised the positive role of the Brazilian authorities in enhancing the participation of their diverse delegations in the many events held at Expo 2020 Dubai, and stressed that the UAE is looking forward with great interest to the second visit of Jair Bolsonaro, President of the Republic of Brazil to the UAE, to strengthen the existing strategic partnership relations and to celebrate the National Day dedicated to Brazil during the events The exhibition is in the middle of this month, stressing that this visit will contribute to advancing the strategic partnership between the two countries to higher levels to include broader sectors within the bilateral cooperation between them.


For his part, Ambassador Augusto Pestana, Director General of the Brazilian Export Promotion Agency, praised the importance of Expo 2020 Dubai as a prominent international event, and the strong Brazilian participation in this exhibition, noting that the United Kingdom was the first country to issue postage stamps around the Expo, followed by Brazil in 1904, stressing that The importance of these special editions in strengthening communication between countries.


He gave an overview of the date of issuance of the Brazilian postage stamps related to the Expo, noting that the issuance of honorary postage stamps did not occur in Brazil except on two previous occasions, namely the San Luis Expo in the United States of America in 1904 and the Brussels Expo in 1958, and that Expo 2020 Dubai enjoys the honorary postage stamp. The third in the history of Brazil's participation in the Expo.
