November 04, 2021 Third dose from the 181st day for those who have done the second, and start vaccinating children aged 5 to 11 years.

These are the new indications to the Regions by the extraordinary commissioner for the emergency, General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo.

Schedule third doses immediately

The "scientific evidence on the progress of infections" - underlines the general in the circular - according to the time elapsed from vaccination (or recovery), together with other factors suggest starting from now to schedule the "administration of third doses". This is an acceleration of the vaccination campaign launched by the Commissioner after the positive opinions of international scientific organizations and AIFA. Therefore, do not let more than six months pass from when you took the second dose, and immediately start organizing the calls of the so-called "booster".

Vaccine: probable enlargement to 5-11 years

The commissioner mentions the enlargement of the population of vaccinable age groups, speaking of the "probable future enlargement of the vaccination offer to the 5-11 year old audience". Not yet operational, therefore, but which seems to be starting to lay the foundations for future involvement in the children's vaccination campaign.

An all-out and immediate intervention

Figliuolo writes to act "without delay": "Plan with precision the supplies of drugs, aids and health materials necessary for vaccinations, allow the possible concomitant administration of the anti-flu vaccine to the categories of subjects for which such seasonal vaccination is recommended, and to manage the organizational machinery still in place, taking into account the rationalization of the hubs still in progress ".

"Information and awareness on vaccination"

The Commissioner also asks "the governors to reinforce the information and awareness work on anti Sars-CoV-2 / Covid-19 vaccination", also in relation to the "possibility of scheduling its administration in conjunction with the flu vaccination".
