It was on 20 September that the Kosovo government decided that vehicles registered in Serbia would have to temporarily change their license plates, at a cost, in order to enter Kosovo.

Serbia has long demanded the opposite of Kosovo Albanian vehicles, as it never recognized Kosovo as an independent state.

Kosovo's response provoked strong reactions in Serbia and among Serbs living in northern Kosovo, who responded by blocking roads with trucks.

The conflict escalated and the countries chose to send both military and special forces to the border.

NATO called for a reduction and the EU had to mediate in the conflict to find a solution - which in this case became a white sticker.

At the border crossing, the mark is now affixed over the national symbol on all cars entering Serbia from Kosovo.

The same goes for cars coming from Serbia to Kosovo.

- I do not know why it is like this, why bother with stickers.

But what to do, I have to follow the rules, says truck driver Branko Todorovic.
