In August 2020, six French humanitarian workers from the NGO Acted, as well as their Nigerien guide and driver, were killed by unidentified armed groups in the Kouré giraffe animal park.
Nigerien justice revealed, Friday, October 22, that eleven people suspected of having taken part in this attack have been arrested in recent months.

More than a year after
the terrorist attack in Kouré
, which claimed the lives of six French humanitarian workers, their Nigerien guide and driver, the Nigerien justice system confirms the arrest and imprisonment of several people.
According to French and Nigerien investigators, quoted by AFP on Friday, these people are suspected of having participated in the assassination.
According to a Nigerien magistrate, there were indeed arrests in the case after the seizure of the senior Nigerien judges.
It is, according to the investigators, a lookout positioned on the road connecting Niamey to Kouré and whose mission was to report the first vehicle occupied by white men, and another intermediary order giver.
Logistics cells
The other suspects belong to two logistics cells dismantled in Niamey and in the village of Tchoubi where the vehicle of the NGO Acted had been chased by
three armed men on motorcycles
.
According to RFI information, they are languishing in the high security prison of Koutoukalé.
Less than two months ago, according to a forest ranger in charge of monitoring the Kouré park, French investigators and magistrates went to the scene of the crime.
These magistrates, who cooperate closely with the Nigerien justice system, would have left for France with a copy of the file, according to a senior magistrate.
