China News Service, Paris, September 22 (Reporter Li Yang) A Napoleon double-horned hat was successfully auctioned at Sotheby's in Paris on the 22nd local time, and the auction price reached 1.22 million euros.

According to relevant information published by Sotheby's in Paris, this double-corner hat is similar to other double-corner hats worn by Napoleon during his lifetime, with a length of 49 cm, a front wing size of 15 cm, and a tail wing size of 20.5 cm.

The inside of the hat did not use leather materials, but silk materials, because Napoleon was said to be allergic to leather materials.

The main reason for the high price of this Napoleon double-angled hat is its historical value.

Sotheby's Paris revealed that historians only confirmed that 19 double-horned hats were worn by Napoleon before his death, and this double-horned hat was one of them.

What's more rare is that Napoleon wore this double-horned hat when he signed the Treaty of Tilsit in June 1807, which has historical significance.

After Napoleon led the French army to defeat the Russian and Prussian coalition forces, he signed the Treaty of Tilsit with Russia and Prussia in June 1807.

The treaty affected the future division of the European continent and at the same time affected the direction of French-Russian relations.

In 1814, Sir Stewart from Scotland bought this Napoleon double-horned hat in Germany, and he also recorded the purchase process in his diary.

Sotheby's Paris initially estimated the double-cornered hat at 400,000 to 600,000 euros, and then raised the estimate by about 100,000 euros, and the auction price was 1222,500 euros, which was nearly double the estimated price.

Not all Napoleon double-angled hats can be sold at high prices.

A double horned hat worn by Napoleon during the Battle of Waterloo in 1815 was auctioned in France in 2018 for 350,000 euros.

The estimated value of the double-angled hat is reported to be only 40,000 euros.

Sotheby's Paris held a special auction from 15th to 22nd to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Napoleon's death. This Napoleon double-horned hat is one of the important auction items.

The auction items also include paintings, sculptures, silverware, jewelry and so on.
