Karlstad parts is a collaboration between the municipality and six other partners from civil society, business and the university.

- We try to be involved and support the development of sharing economy, second-hand trade and repairers, says project manager Henric Barkman at the municipality.

The main purpose is to reduce the climate impact and make it easier to think sustainably

Increased number of positives

The project started in 2019 and since then the municipality has seen an increase of nine percentage points, which today is in favor of sharing economy.

- One reason is that we have more such businesses, says Henric Barkman.

About 15 different sharing solutions have been created during the project period.

The project has supported, among others, Fritidsbanken, the shared wardrobe Rekoroben, the free shop Skattkistan and Sola byggöturbruk.

It also houses food waste apps and car sharing services.

To be included in regular operations

Actually, the time for the project has just expired, but there is nothing to worry about project manager Henric Barkman.

- We have received so many cheers and have seen that this is something that the people of Karlstad demand - and also business - so we will definitely continue to run the work in our regular business, he says and continues:

- Sharing economy is an opportunity to unite the environment, the economy and the social.

In the clip, Helena Kjäll, supervisor at Sola building recycling, talks about how they notice the interest from Karlstad residents and then we meet the customer Julian Dixon.
