Whether designer furniture from the early 20th century, copies of his famous fingerless gloves or the bowls of his cat Choupette: fans of the fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, who died in 2019, should have a lot to discover at the auction of his estate announced by Sotheby's for the end of the year and the beginning of 2022.

Then, in Paris, Cologne and Monaco, more than a thousand lots from Lagerfeld's personal belongings will be called up, reflecting his style preferences and his way of life.

Furniture by the Italian Memphis Group and the German architect and furniture designer Bruno Paul will be among them, objects from Art Deco and contemporary designers, art and advertising posters from the early 20th century.

The artists most frequently represented in the collection are named by the auction house Marc Newson, Martin Szekely, Ron Arad, Gino Sarfati, as well as Louis Süe, André Mare and Georges Lepape.

Home textiles, three Rolls Royce, more than 200 pairs of leather gloves and various suit jackets from Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, KL, Comme des garçons and Martin Margiela are also for sale.

A colorful variety, ennobled by the fact that it passed through Karl Lagerfeld's hands.
