A forty-year-old was arrested and taken into police custody after her companion was discovered dead, stabbed, at their home in the Pyrénées-Orientales, AFP learned from a source close to the investigation.

"The man died of several stab wounds", indicated the same source, specifying that a quarrel had probably taken place "against a background of alcoholism and violence".

The facts took place in Boulou, near the Spanish border.

At around 9 p.m., the suspect called a neighbor, who discovered the lifeless body of her husband, before calling the police.

Investigations are still ongoing.

The investigation was entrusted to the research brigade of Céret.
