The Indian government has facilitated the stay of these foreign citizens in India by extending the validity period of their ordinary visa or e-visa or residence permit and exempting them from any fines for overstaying.

The Indian government is now extending the convenience measures implemented before August 31, 2021 to September 30, 2021.

Before September 30, 2021, the above-mentioned foreign citizens do not need to submit a visa extension application to the relevant immigration bureau.

Before leaving the country, they only need to apply for an exit permit on the Immigration Bureau's portal, and the relevant immigration bureau will approve it free of charge and be exempt from fines for overstaying.

  The Ministry of Internal Affairs of India’s notice stated that if the visa validity period needs to be extended beyond September 30, 2021, the relevant foreign citizens can apply for a visa extension on the Immigration Bureau’s portal for a fee, and the application will be considered by the Immigration Bureau in accordance with the current guidelines.
