01 September 2021 "I condemn the choice of the League which, with today's votes in the Commission in the House against the Green pass, decided, just today, to make a choice that places it outside the majority. So I ask for clarification political on this point. Because today the League actually stands against and out of the majority ".

It is the attack of the secretary of the Democratic Party, Enrico Letta, launched on the sidelines of his speech at the National Unity Day.

What happened "shows an intolerable situation".

For Letta "there is a need for responsibility on the part of all political forces".

"I think I can say that what is happening today in the Chamber, where in the Social Affairs Committees the League actually left the majority and voted against the Green pass, against also the vote that the League had given in the Council of Ministers, demonstrates an intolerable situation ", Letta continued, adding:" The political forces must be the first to give the positive sign of unity for our country to work at this moment and for all things to work ".

"I believe - said the secretary of the Democratic Party - that the police, which we must thank today, have done a splendid, perfect job, which has allowed this day to clarify that the words of the No Vax are words, for now, just words ". But "we must not let our guard down: I believe that there is a need to absolutely maintain order, control the situation and give univocal messages".
