The competition accuses the EPP of only half-heartedly demarcating itself from the far right. The EPP wants a real foreign minister for the EU and is even calling for a nuclear protective shield for the European Union. The European center-right parties are meeting in Bucharest this week and Ursula von der Leyen is to be named the top candidate on Thursday.
