31 August 2021 On the eve of the beginning of the school year, the rules and critical issues still to be resolved are outlined The Conference of Regions met today, which examined the documents on the pandemic monitoring plan in primary and lower secondary schools and the strategic indications in schools drawn up by various institutional subjects coordinated by the Ministry of Health. 



"The opening of schools and therefore the presence of students in complete safety is a priority, definitively overcoming distance learning", said at the end the president Massimiliano Fedriga.



The sentinel schools

"In particular, in sharing the objectives of the Monitoring Plan - explains Fedriga - we work with the Government to improve some technical aspects related to the so-called 'sentinel schools'. System already operational in some regions, in order to be able to carry out periodic tests on hundreds of thousands of students in primary and lower secondary schools. The need for clarification on the methodical validation of salivary samples and the consequent updating of the ministerial circular is emphasized ".



"It also highlights the indispensable preparation of a single form and a national agreement for tests with pharmacies, as has already happened for vaccinations. As regards, however, the strategic indications, the observations are only technical and the opinion it's positive.



"The Regions are fully involved in the process of combating the pandemic, providing all the operational support necessary to facilitate and strengthen monitoring actions, from tests to swabs, as well as to speed up the vaccination campaign for children and operators. It is essential. not only prevention in schools. In this battle defections are not acceptable, only united can we definitively defeat the virus and therefore prevent and reduce the chances of contagion ".
