Rescuers have put in place significant resources after the emergency landing on Monday of a Piper aircraft on a beach in Biscarrosse in the Landes.

Because if the pilot is unharmed, the student he was with jumped from the aircraft before landing and is still wanted, we learned from the firefighters.

The plane landed around 5.30 p.m. on a beach on a military estate.

Air and sea resources, two helicopters and two ships, were then hired to try to find the student pilot.

By early evening, the search was unsuccessful, according to firefighters.
