American Sha'Carri Richardson, deprived of the Olympic Games after testing positive for cannabis, finished last in the 100m on Saturday at the Eugene meeting, counting for the Diamond League, won by Jamaican Elaine Thompson-Herah, triple Olympic champion in Tokyo.

Sha'Carri Richardson, who was coming out of suspension, did not get the revenge she wanted after being deprived of participation in the Tokyo Olympics.

Worse: she finished 9th out of nine sprinters on Eugene's tartan.

Thompson-Herah, crowned Olympic champion in Tokyo in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m, finished the race in 10.54 sec (+0.9 m / sec), achieving nothing less than the second all-time performance at 5 / 100th of the sulphurous Florence Griffith-Joyner (10.49), whose times are tarnished by suspicions of doping.

Thompson-Herah beats another sprint legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce (10.73), Shericka Jackson (10.76, best personal time tied) completing a 100% Jamaican podium.

Facing high-level opponents, with the presence of three other Olympic finalists, including the American Teahna Daniels (4, 10.83) the Ivorian Marie-Josée Ta Lou (5th, 10.90) and the Swiss Mujinga Kambundji (7th, 10.96 ), Sha'Carri Richardson finished ninth and last in 11.14.

It is a big disappointment for the American sprinter, who made her return to competition after being suspended at the end of June for thirty days for consumption of cannabis and deprived of the Olympic Games, she who had told NBC in early July that she had consumed marijuana after learning of the death of his birth mother.

"Put me aside if you want. Say all the bullshit you want. Because I'm here to stay. I'm not finished," said the 21-year-old American after the race, visibly frustrated.
