Paris Paralympic swimmer Kota Kubota selected as representative for 2nd consecutive Games. 24-year-old Kubota competed in the men's 100m backstroke in the motor dysfunction class.

Kubota has been unable to move his left arm since birth and swims using only his right arm. This will be Kubota's second consecutive Paralympics appearance and his second consecutive appearance at the World Championships in August. He has adopted a new kick method that uses both feet at the same time, and is rapidly growing.
