Kota Kubota is a 24-year-old from Chiba City.



He has been unable to move his left arm since birth and swims using only his right arm.



He started attending swimming school at the age of 0, and when he was in the 5th grade of elementary school, he learned about para-competitive swimming in a newspaper and began competing seriously.



He trained at Nippon Sport Science University, a competitive swimming force, and learned the ``Basaro Kick'', which involves diving underwater and kicking, to increase his speed at the start and after turns.In his first appearance at the Tokyo Paralympics, he placed 5th in the 100m backstroke.
