(Fighting New Coronary Pneumonia) Chongqing launches free vaccination of new coronavirus vaccine for Taiwanese compatriots aged 12 to 14 in Chongqing

China News Service, Chongqing, August 11 (Reporter Liu Xianglin) A reporter learned from the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government on the 11th that from 0:00 on the 12th, Chongqing has initiated appointments for vaccination against the new crown virus for Taiwan compatriots aged 12 to 14 in Chongqing.

Compatriots in Chongqing enjoy the same treatment as residents of Chongqing and receive free vaccinations against the new coronavirus.

According to reports, Chongqing is currently using the new coronavirus vaccine produced in the mainland.

Under the premise of “informed, agreed, and voluntary”, Taiwanese (12 to 14 years old) in Chongqing can make an appointment or apply for a new coronavirus vaccine in three ways.

The first is the unified organization of vaccination by the school: the vaccination of Taiwanese students at all levels and types of schools in Chongqing is treated the same as the mainland students of the school, and the specific vaccination is arranged by the school.

Secondly, you can make an appointment for vaccination by yourself.

Taiwanese nationals who have a residence permit for Taiwan residents or a certificate for participating in medical insurance in the Mainland can go to a designated hospital to make an appointment for vaccination with the residence permit for residents of Taiwan or the certificate of participating in medical insurance in the Mainland, but they must be accompanied by one of their guardians (parents) for vaccination.

The third type is the unified organization of vaccination by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the district and county where the residence is located.

Taiwanese compatriots who do not have a residence permit for Taiwan residents or a certificate of participation in medical insurance from the mainland can apply for vaccination to the district/county Taiwan Affairs Office where they live with the Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents, and the district/county Taiwan Affairs Office will uniformly organize the vaccination at designated hospitals.

According to reports, Chongqing has set up two designated hospitals to make appointments for vaccinations against the new crown virus for Taiwanese compatriots aged 12 to 14 in Chongqing.

Taiwanese compatriots who meet the vaccination requirements can make an appointment online or telephone to make an appointment for vaccination.

Before vaccination, the vaccinated person shall sign an informed consent form, an exemption letter of commitment, etc. according to the procedure, and shall take the initiative to inform the health status.

The hospital inquires about the health status of the vaccinators and determines whether they are suitable for vaccination.

Vaccination is carried out after the above conditions are met.

On May 20 this year, Chongqing initiated free vaccinations against the new coronavirus for Taiwan compatriots over 18 years old in Chongqing, and on August 4 for free vaccinations for Taiwanese compatriots aged 15 to 17 in Chongqing.

As of August 6, the total number of Taiwanese compatriots vaccinated with the new crown virus vaccine in Chongqing reached 1,427, with 1,873 doses of vaccination, and no adverse reactions occurred.
