The people in Hesse have to be prepared for showers and thunderstorms at the weekend.

On Saturday, a low from France with warm and humid air masses prone to thunderstorms spreads over the course of the day, as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced in Offenbach.

Accordingly, there are no warning signs of weather until noon.

In the afternoon and evening, there are individual, sometimes strong, thunderstorms in some areas.

Here, local storms with water volumes between 25 and 40 liters per square meter can occur in a short time.

Occasionally, severe gusts of wind between 80 and 90 kilometers per hour as well as hail are possible.

The maximum values are between 26 and 29 degrees.

During the night, the thunderstorms subside with the lowest temperatures between 18 and 14 degrees.

Sunday morning is mostly dry and cloudy.

In the further course of the day, the DWD expects heavy showers and thunderstorms with a risk of storms in some areas.

The temperatures reach a maximum of 25 to 28 degrees.
