Clap of the end for the excavation work on line 11. It is the end of the structural work of the line extension with the arrival of the Sofia tunnel boring machine at the future Serge-Gainsbourg station in Les Lilas, this Friday.

In total, six new stations will emerge between Mairie des Lilas, the current terminus, and the future Rosny-Bois-Perrier station.

Travelers will be able to take it "by 2023", Île-de-France Mobilités announces in a press release.

After 15 months of work, the drill has completed digging the 3 kilometers that will house the Serge-Gainsbourg stations (15,000 travelers per day are expected), Place Carnot, Montreuil-Hôpital and La Dhuys.

The cost of the works is estimated at nearly 1.3 billion euros.

Trainsets of five cars

Elsewhere on the extension of the line, the viaduct of the future Coteaux Beauclair station and the rectangular Rosny-Bois-Perrier tunnel have also been connected.

The pre-existing stations are currently benefiting from improvements intended to support the passage of trainsets of 4 to 5 cars, already tested since the delivery of the new generation Alstom MP14 train.

Another necessary change is the move to Rosny-sous-Bois of the train maintenance workshop, previously located in Les Lilas, which will allow it to start up by the end of the year.

As for the laying of the tracks, it has already started.
