The Presnensky Court of Moscow ruled on the case of blogger Edward Beale (real name - Eduard Beale), who provoked a massive traffic accident in April this year.
The 25-year-old defendant was sentenced to two years of restraint of liberty.

Three years without a driver's license
“By the verdict of the Presnensky District Court of Moscow, Eduard Biel was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 1 of Art.
264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules, entailing by negligence the infliction of grievous harm to a person - RT), he was sentenced to restraint of liberty for a period of 2 years, "RT was told by the press service of the Presnensky Court of Moscow.
Over the next two years, the blogger cannot leave the house from 20:00 to 8:00, travel outside Moscow and the Moscow region and change permanent residence without notifying the supervisory authority.
In addition, the court stripped Bil of his driver's license for three years.
Thus, the court appointed a punishment for the blogger, on which the state prosecution insisted during the debate of the parties.
Until the verdict came into force, the press service of the metropolitan prosecutor's office added.
Until that moment, a preventive measure in the form of a ban on certain actions will be in effect.
The injured party considers the verdict to be reasonable and fair.
“Today we have been handed the verdict of the Presnensky District Court, in the near future we will meet with Maria (officially recognized as a victim in an accident - RT), we will study this verdict.
We have ten days for this - to decide whether we will appeal or not.
At first glance, the verdict is legal, reasonable and just, ”said the lawyer of the victim, Andrei Knyazev, in an interview with RT.
At the same time, the prosecutor's office is preparing an appeal against the verdict, TASS reports with reference to the press secretary of the capital's prosecutor's office, Lyudmila Nefedova.

In turn, the defendant's lawyer thanked the victim Maria Artyomova for not asking Beel to be punished by imprisonment.
“We are pleased that we did not make a show out of the trial, and that we were able to come to terms with the victim.
For this, first of all, thanks to her, her husband and their lawyer, we managed to establish a constructive dialogue.
Edward was initially determined to make peace with the victim.

Edward Beale himself was also pleased with the court's decision, although before the meeting he told reporters that he was awaiting a suspended sentence.
“Many will be unhappy, most likely - they will think that a real deadline was needed and so on.
But I think it would not have been easier for anyone if it was a real term - neither for the victim, nor for my family, ”the blogger told reporters after the verdict was announced.
He also addressed his audience and urged them not to repeat his mistakes.

An accident in the center of Moscow happened on April 1.
As the court established, Edward Beale, driving an Audi RS6 at a speed of 115 km / h, drove into the oncoming lane of Novinsky Boulevard and crashed into a Volkswagen Polo.
At that moment, he was recording a video.
Maria Artyomova was at the wheel.
She was hospitalized with a traumatic brain injury, a contusion of the brain, ruptures of internal organs, open fractures of the legs and a fracture of the pelvis.
The woman is still in the hospital.
Four more cars were injured in the road accident.
Earlier, Edward Beale said that he had fully paid compensation to Artyomova, in connection with which her lawyer sent a petition to the Main Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow to terminate the criminal case to reconcile the parties.
However, the Presnensky court refused to dismiss the case.
On July 14, Edward Beale told reporters that some participants in the accident began to demand too much compensation.
