The nurse who had uttered racist insults against a black cashier in a Carrefour store in Annemasse, near Geneva, was sentenced on Monday.
The criminal court of Thonon-les-Bains (Haute-Savoie) held against Lilia Hafsi a six-month sentence of house arrest under electronic surveillance.
The prosecutor Bruno Badré had requested against him ten months in prison, including six farms, in order to punish "remarks which damage the living together, which weaken the social pact which founds our society".

"She attacked me as I attacked her," she assured the president.
"Madame Hafsi is used to this behavior," replied the prosecutor, reminding him of his eleven convictions entered in the criminal record, including a last in 2020 for theft and death threat on the security of a store in Grenoble.
