- It feels very positive that many residents have received good protection against covid, but two syringes are needed to get full protection against variants that participate, for example, says Marie Ragnarsson, vaccine coordinator for Region Kalmar County.

There is a continued high willingness to vaccinate in the county, even though certain age groups do not book appointments to the same extent during the summer.

- It's summer, it's a holiday and the infection in society has gone down a lot.

Then other things are prioritized, but it is important that we continue to vaccinate ourselves because the world is still in a pandemic, says Marie Ragnarsson.

Tourists want to take dose 2

In Sweden, people have the right to be vaccinated in a region regardless of whether you are resident in the county or not.

In connection with the onset of the summer, the Kalmar County Region has seen an increase in people from other regions who want to get vaccinated here.

- We get a lot of inquiries about it and especially after dose two.

Marie Ragnarsson says that the region has plenty of vaccine doses and that the entire adult population in the county, who want a vaccine, should be able to be fully vaccinated in September.

Kronoberg Region

In the Kronoberg Region, 44 percent of the adult population is fully vaccinated.

Those who wanted a vaccine and are included in phase 2 or phase 3 are now fully vaccinated with both doses.

On Monday, the region opened the booking for everyone over the age of 18 and it is now the availability of vaccines that controls the pace of vaccination.

- We get less vaccine than we could use, therefore the vaccination is slower than we would like.

But we continue to appeal for patience - everyone will have the opportunity to get vaccinated, says Lena Andersson Nazzal, vaccine coordinator in the Kronoberg Region.
