The Romanian seaside resorts have been invaded by thousands of ladybugs. Insects occupy the beaches and settle both on the sand and on bathers and on food. The fault lies with climate change and an anomalous heat wave. And only the cold could force the insects to abandon the beaches. However, biologists urge bathers not to despair: ladybugs are harmless, do not transmit diseases and have no negative effect on human health. They are also very useful as they consume smaller, but harmful insects for agriculture: aphids, or plant lice. According to forecasts, they should disappear from the beaches within a week.
