More than four years have passed since the terrorist attack on Drottninggatan in Stockholm where five people were killed.

But there are still 25 unidentified people who have been victims of crime in connection with the attack.

24 of them have been subjected to attempted murder and one of them to endanger another.

According to the Crime Victim Compensation Authority, they have the right to apply for compensation for violation of SEK 125,000 and SEK 30,000, respectively, but none of these have applied for damages and the time expires soon.

Must apply within three years

An application for criminal damages must be made within three years of the end of the legal process.

In this case, the time expires on June 28 and now the Crime Victims Authority invites the unidentified persons to contact.

- We believe that several of the victims at the time of the terrorist crime were temporarily in Sweden, for example as a tourist or on a business trip.

But it can also be about Swedish citizens who just do not know about the possibility of criminal damages, says Anna Sundén Larsson, who is a lawyer at the authority's criminal damages unit.

Must strengthen the identity

It is the district court's ruling that has determined that there are 25 unidentified persons.

According to Anna Sundén Larsson, the Crime Victims Authority will cooperate with prosecutors and the police to ensure the identity of the victims if someone now submits an application.

- There is, among other things, pictorial material that was presented during the main hearing.

In addition, you should be able to show, for example, travel documents that prove that you were in Sweden at the time, she says.
