False alarm.
A Ryanair plane flying between Dublin and Krakow was forced to land in Berlin on Sunday evening.
The aircraft carrying 160 people landed at 8:08 p.m. local time (18:08 GMT) on a runway at Berlin-Brandenburg Airport, in the south of the German capital.
An emergency stop carried out after a bomb threat according to several media, such as the daily Bild Zeitung
"Police security measures have ended without any danger being detected," said a spokesperson for the Berlin police.
"The passengers were able to resume their flight to Poland on board a spare aircraft," she added, without giving further details on the reasons for the alert.
Passengers' luggage searched
According to German media, the passengers' luggage was placed on the tarmac to be searched by dog teams, while the plane was surrounded by numerous police and fire vehicles.
"The aircraft of the company Ryanair requested an emergency landing and immediately obtained an authorization", indicated to the daily Bild the spokesman of the airport, Jan-Peter Hack, specifying that the passengers had been led into the terminal in order to eat there.
Already in July 2020, a Ryanair plane making the same Dublin-Krakow route had to make an emergency landing in London following a bomb threat, which had also proved to be unfounded.
