• Moncloa The ministers expect a remodeling of the Government of Pedro Sánchez after the pardons and vaccination

  • Catalonia ERC requires Sánchez that Junqueras participate in the negotiation table

First step of the chain. The meeting between Pedro Sánchez, president of the Government, and Pere Aragonès, president of the Generalitat, was the first stone in the "reunion agenda" that the Executive with the Government wants to promote. Both leaders have held a telephone conversation this Friday where they have agreed to hold a bilateral meeting in this month of June.

That appointment, they understand in La Moncloa, should also serve to unblock the dialogue table between both parties.

Laying the foundations to reactivate this dialogue forum where they will talk about financing, taxation, referendum ... The conversation, which lasted 40 minutes, has served, according to government sources, to address "different aspects of the current political situation", in addition to "sharing the objective of moving towards overcoming common challenges through dialogue."

The Government wants to raise amnesty for all those involved in judicial cases related to 1-O and a referendum on self-determination at the dialogue table, while Sánchez works to reach that space with a reform of the crime of sedition in the Criminal Code and with the prisoners in the street through pardons.

The Government, as government sources have reiterated these days, "is focused on ending the pandemic and overcoming the economic crisis and the reunion agenda with Catalonia."

That is, for Sánchez it is a priority objective in the coming months "to normalize the relationship with Catalonia."

And in this process the disposition of the Executive to grant pardons to the leaders of the procés is framed.
