May 29, 2021 Other people have been identified who would have played a role in the disappearance of the missing girl, Saman Abbas, 18, about a month ago from Novellara, in the lower Reggiana. In particular, from the vision of the video surveillance images of the company (dating back to last April 29), two cousins of the young woman were recognized who are in addition to the parents and an uncle. These are portrayed the evening before the last sighting of the girl, leaving the shed with work tools (a bucket containing a blue sack and a crowbar) probably used to prepare the hole.

But all the tapes acquired from April 11 onwards are also being scanned to look for further clues. A significant date because that day Saman decided to go home after spending four months in a protected community in the Bologna area where she had been placed by social services. She had turned to the latter for help last October, when still a minor, she had opposed the marriage with a cousin, forced by her family. On May 5, the carabinieri knocked on her door to notify her of a deed, but they did not find her or her parents, who will later turn out to have left days earlier for Pakistan, suddenly and without warning given to the employer of the father: now they are sought through an international letter of letters.

Initially, the hypothesis of kidnapping makes its way, but the boarding lists at Malpensa airport show the parents, but not Saman. The mobile phone is turned off. We try to do a survey in the airports of Belgium where the young woman had already left in June 2020 rebelling against Islamic fundamentalist cultural impositions, as evidenced by the abysmal discrepancy between a photo (smiling, without veil, with make-up and earrings) that dates back to period in community and another more recent with the hijab. But nothing to do, it does not even appear in other parts of Europe. Then check the video that suggests that something may have happened. Saman had arrived in Novellara at the age of 14 after her father - hired for over ten years in afarm that produces watermelons - has obtained family reunification. He attended and finished middle school in the village. Then the family did not enroll her in high school despite the fact that she wanted to study and dreamed of being a doctor

Overall, therefore, the number of persons registered in the register of suspects rose to 5: mother, father, uncle and two cousins. In the morning the search operations will resume and will concentrate behind the shed through the inspection in particular of some wells and canals as well as other greenhouses without the aid of canine units. The file is open for murder. Investigators are convinced that the girl - who had sued her parents for arranging a marriage - was killed.

Hundreds of them at the torchlight procession in Novellara

Some hundreds of people gathered last night in Piazza Unità d'Italia in Novellara to take part in the torchlight procession dedicated to Saman Abbas. "Our community has been overwhelmed by an unprecedented situation - said the mayor Elena Carletti who took the floor - we are here for a girl that perhaps none of you has known. Saman is not alone and will never be alone. Regardless of what happens. " At his side also several mayors, councilors and councilors but also Reggio parliamentarians and exponents of different religions who wanted to show closeness and solidarity to the country, gathering around the community in these days of great apprehension for the fate of the girl.
