Vietnam discovered a new strain of Corona virus that is a hybrid between the Indian and British strains, and it is spreading rapidly through the air.

The "Fun Express" newspaper quoted Vietnamese Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long as saying Saturday, "After the genetic sequencing of newly discovered patients, we discovered a new strain, which is a hybrid of (the two strains) India and the United Kingdom."

He added that his country will announce the details of the new strain to the world soon.

Vietnam succeeded in containing Corona last year, but it is now facing a faster-spreading infection.

Yesterday, Friday, the director of the European branch of the World Health Organization, Hans Kluge, expressed his concern about the severity of infection with mutated versions of the Corona virus.

And he said - in an interview with the French Press Agency - "We know, for example, that" B.1617 "(the Indian version) is more contagious than" B.117 "(the British version), which in turn was more contagious than the previous version of the virus.

The contagion is slowing in India

However, India is currently witnessing a gradual slowdown in infection, after experiencing difficult days in the past period.

Today, the health authorities recorded 173,790 new confirmed infections within 24 hours, which is the lowest daily toll within 45 days, bringing the total number of infections in the country since the outbreak of the epidemic to 27.7 million.

As for deaths from the disease, it increased 3,617 within 24 hours, bringing the total number to 322,512.
