It is a new face in the hierarchy of the Republican Party which confirms the stranglehold of Donald Trump on his troops.
Elise Stefanik was elected by party officials to replace Liz Cheney as the party's number three in the House.
This elected official from New York State was supported by the former president.

When she arrived in the House of Representatives in 2014, Elise Stefanik was presented as a progressive.
At the time, she was the youngest woman ever to be elected to Congress and displayed her desire to diversify the ranks of the Conservative Party.
At the start of Donald Trump's term, Elise Stefanik opposed the former president.

But the young woman's political ambition led her to take a radical turn: she became one of the most ardent supporters of the ex-president and voted against the certification of the results of the election of Joe Biden. and helped spread conspiracy theories.
