Mattias Forssten will take up the position in Örebro on 1 June and will then take over from Mats Scherp, who has been acting.

- When it comes to the local police area Örebro, my picture is that the local problem picture is complex, with everything from everyday crime that significantly affects our citizens' quality of life to organized crime and the most serious violent crimes, says Forssten in a press release on the police website.

Mattias Forssten has previously held the position of local police area chief in Karlstad and has been acting chief of staff in the Värmland police area. In Örebro, he has held positions as group manager, external officer and head of the regional action section.
