Berlin (dpa / bb) - After a solidarity rally in Berlin-Neukölln for the Palestinian population, the police are investigating ten people.

The police said on Monday that they were accused of serious breach of the peace, resistance and attack against law enforcement officials.

The suspects were temporarily arrested.

From a group of up to 100 people, emergency services in Sonnenallee were attacked from both sides of the sidewalk on Sunday evening.

According to the police, bottles and stones flew.

Police had to clear dumpsters, wooden pallets and electric scooters from the roadway that protesters had dragged there.

16 police officers were injured during the operation.

After the premature end of the demonstration at Hermannplatz with around 900 participants, the police repeatedly asked people to leave the square, it said.

Hundreds of adolescents and young adults had previously stood there, and speeches by the police had no effect.

A large group was then led to the Hermannplatz underground station.

There were first attacks on police officers, which then continued in Sonnenallee.

The police used irritant gas and coercion, it said.
