Hamburg (dpa / lno) - The Hamburg Sea Devils have sold 1600 tickets for their opening game in the European League of Football (ELF) on June 20 against the Frankfurt Galaxy 1600.

"We are sold out for our first home game," the club announced on its Twitter channel on Saturday.

At the moment, however, it is not yet clear whether spectators can even be admitted to the Hoheluft Stadium.

The club also regards the sold-out stadium as a vote of confidence.

"We are impressed by your support," it said on Twitter.

The ELF wants to start its premiere season on June 19th with six teams from Germany as well as one team each from Poland and Spain.

The game of the Sea Devils against the Galaxy will be broadcast live on Pro Sieben Maxx from 3 p.m.
