Hamburg: Port achieves worst result in almost 15 years. Less and less freight is passing over the quaysides of the Port of Hamburg.

Now hopes rest on a deal with the shipping company MSC. But there is resistance among employees. The city currently owns around 70 percent of the listed port logistics company HHLA. In return, MSC wants to build its German headquarters in Hamburg, increase the cargo volume from 2025 and increase it to an additional million TEU per year by 2031.
