According to the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Health of Belarus, Deputy Minister of Health and Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Republic Alexander Tarasenko noted that now it is necessary to assess its safety and conduct clinical trials.
“Currently, we have received a candidate vaccine - the so-called in vitro vaccine.
We followed the path of creating a classic type of vaccine - a killed whole-virion vaccine.
This technology is well tested - it has been used for more than a century, ”he said.
Tarasenko stressed that this is an inactivated vaccine, in which there is completely no threat of restoring the pathogenic properties of the virus.
“Making a vaccine is not an easy process.
Further, we are faced with the tasks of assessing the safety and efficacy of the obtained vaccine in vitro, as well as conducting preclinical and clinical trials of the resulting drug, ”he stressed.
Earlier, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that Belarusian scientists managed to create their own vaccine against coronavirus infection COVID-19.
