Latvian Foreign Ministry plans to finance a large-scale program to promote “democratic values” and gender equality in the EU Eastern Partnership countries. Expert community notes that such initiatives may indicate new attempts by the West to use the Baltic states as a proxy force in the zone of traditional Russian interests.
Latvia may be partially allowed to operate someone to create anti-Russian sentiments, one expert believes. In this regard, one can only predict an increase in efforts to wage an information war against Russia, says the expert.
