Bremen (dpa / lni) - Burning rubbish on a balcony triggered a fire in a three-story residential building and led to a large-scale operation by the fire brigade.

According to initial findings, the flames had jumped from balcony to balcony and then spread in an apartment, said a fire department spokesman on Thursday.

Nobody was injured, but the fire building was initially uninhabitable.

Parts of the roof had to be removed.

There was no information about the amount of damage.

In Bremerhaven, the fire brigade had to put out a fire in a central row house.

The fire had lit in a kitchen.

When the emergency services arrived, the facade and parts of the roof were already on fire.

The residents were able to independently save information from the fire brigade outside.

Thanks to the rapid intervention, adjacent buildings could have been saved from major damage.
