Jüchen (dpa / lnw) - Due to an enormous influx of visitors on Sunday, a tulip field in Jüchen in the Rhine district of Neuss was cordoned off and cleared.

The police estimated the number of people who had wanted to look at the colorful field in sunny weather to be a four-digit number.

The city then decided to close the area.

"It was not designed for this influx of visitors," said a police spokesman.

When you have so many people in one place, corona rules such as the distance could no longer be observed.

"There were just too many for the area."

When leaving after the closure, there were also major traffic problems, so the police had to help.

The police spokesman said the tulip field was advertised on various channels.

"Unfortunately, to our annoyance, it was very popular today."
