Dozens of victims in the derailment of a train in Egypt

The Egyptian Railways Authority announced that Train 949 Cairo Mansoura has derailed near the Toukh station of Qalyubia Governorate.

The authority said that the train was coming from Mansoura and on its way to Cairo, and its wheels went off the tracks, which led to its suspension and the movement of the line completely stopped.

For its part, the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population announced today that 97 people were injured in the accident.

Dr. Khaled Mujahid, Assistant Minister of Health and Population, explained to the media that 58 ambulances had been paid to transport the injured to hospitals.
